This class is made for those interested in learning the basics of PV design and installation. If you want to build your own system or find out if solar is right for your home this class is for you. It is also an effective introduction to solar for contractors and others who are seeking a career in the solar industry.

Topics to be covered:

  • basics of electricity and PV
  • energy efficiency and saving money
  • grid-tie and off grid systems: which is for you?
  • componentry identification and battery configuration
  • sizing your system based on energy calculations
  • cost analysis & rebate programs
  • site evaluation and load analysis
  • array layout and installation
