About Hubbert's Peak Education Hubbert's Peak is Austin's premiere hands-on solar school. We offer courses covering a variety of clean and sustainable technologies. Our bi-weekly photovoltaic(PV) workshops give students a comprehensive look at the applications for and installation of solar technology. Students will learn to perform a load analysis and a site evaluation as part of the design phase. They will learn to identify, configure, and wire componentry of a fully operational system. Awareness We are here because we see energy and climate protection as the defining issues of our time. One of our goals at Hubbert's Peak is to increase the visibility of the energy dilemma in the media and establish it as part of our mainstream consciousness. Often, creating awareness is a grassroots movement. It involves interaction and communication. Currently, we are host to Solar Tuesdays, a weekly solar powered live musical event. And we are planning an outdoor, solar bike-in film night that showcases progressive independent filmmakers. We are eager to collaborate with community organizers and offer our facilities as host for events and organizations trying to increase awareness about issues we feel are important. Please contact us for availability and pricing. Action The barriers to change are heavy and need many to lift them. It starts on a local level and communities everywhere must take action; for this we seek to be the starting point. We believe there is a sustainable solution for all of our energy needs and we work to help people find them. As a non-profit, community service is one of the pillars of our organization. We regularly seek out service and funding opportunities on behalf of the local community. Our staff often volunteers their time and expertise in furthering the mission of Hubbert's Peak as we try to encourage involvement and public service on a broad scale. In addition, our curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge and confidence to be productive members of the solar community.
